4th Grade Blue Shuts out Union

4th Grade Blue Shuts out Union

The Greenwood 4th grade Blue Pittbulls did it again. They faced a worthy opponent who was working on an undefeated season. But Union Christian didn’t count on the determination of the Blue Pittbulls, who have not been beaten in two years.

Passing by Luke Hales to Solomon Gross, great runs by Matt Marquet and Cooper Van Kooten, and an offensive line that made it all happen – all of these elements produced a near flawless execution.

The Pittbulls scored on the opening drive and managed to eat up a lot of clock during the possession. First half score was 6-0 in favor of the Blue Pittbulls.

In the second half, Blue started off with the football but was forced to declare a punt with a 4th  and 3 yards to go. Union took over on their own 30 yard line but couldn’t get anything going offensively. Charlie Scott, Zach Turner, Carson Lloyd, and Hunter Heller all came together defensively to halt the Eagles at mid-field.

Greenwood’s next possession would eat up a lot of clock. Matt Marquet hit pay dirt with a 30 yard touch down to make the score 12-0. The extra point, attempted with a pass to Dakota Pinkston in the corner of the end zone, did not convert.

Blue Pittbulls remain unbeaten with three games to go. All three remaining games will be at home at Smith-Robinson Stadium. The next scheduled game is October 18 against Stilwell OK.

Great job on the win Guys! Keep up the good work…
